Grandparents replaced by Google?

The wisdom of grandparents, the stories from their memories and the recipes they can share are being replaced by the web.

A new survey has found that grandma and grandpa are being passed up when kids are looking for advice that they used to ask their grandparents for.

According to the survey commissioned by cleaning company Dr. Beckmann, kids are instead hitting Google for advice and wisdom.

Popular app rates a person's ugly factor, bullying experts concerned

Ugly_meter_appAn iPhone app that rates the ugliness of a face is catapulting up the charts following a radio mention – even though bullying experts are sounding the alarm.

Ugly Meter works by taking a picture of your face, and then scanning it for certain facial features. A green bar glides across the face, drawing polymetric shapes surrounding a person’s facial structure.

The app then produces a score out of ten on the “Ugly Meter.” And with this app, you’ll want to score like you do with golf: the lower the score, the better.

A young gay filmmaker took his own life this month, just weeks after creating an online video encouraging other gay teenagers. 19-year-old Californian EricJames Borges killed himself after posting the video to It Gets Better, a project designed to give hope to lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth.

Boy on PSP falls onto subway tracks

A 10-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after his love for video games nearly turned deadly in Italy.

The boy was walking along a subway platform and was so absorbed by his Play Station Portable that he didn't see where he was going - and fell off the platform and onto the tracks below.

Fortunately for the kid, there were no trains entering the station at that moment. Fortunately for us, the incident was captured on a security camera video you can watch below.
