Facebook redesign coming tomorrow?

Facebook is expected to show us a major redesign tomorrow, one that will put a bigger emphasis on photos and re-arrange the news feed.

The world's largest social network sent out invites to members of the media for an event on March 7. The invite says: “Come see a new look for News Feed.”

What could we see change? Quite a bit.

A report from TechCrunch suggests the layout could change to rely more heavily on images, as Facebook might mimic the experience of Flipboard.

That popular app fills the screen with content tiles – images and headlines – that users can tap to open, or flip to scroll through updates.

After comparing the Facebook experience to what you find with apps like Flipboard and Zite, Zuckerberg's creation starts to look a little long in the tooth.

It even looks a little stale compared to Instagram.

Facebook is well aware of that.

Cnet reports that Facebook warned investors in its last call that the social media giant is increasingly dealing with teens spending less time in FB.

Instead, young users have moved on to apps such as Instagram and Snapchat. The latter of which is an app that lets users send photo messages that expire after a few seconds.

But whenever something changes with Facebook, it seems the users react as if they were being forced to cut off an appendage.

What will you do if Facebook redesigns timelines and news feeds?
