Facebook looking to change up your Timeline…again

The world’s largest social network is looking to possibly
introduce another change to your profiles, again.

According to several reports, Facebook is testing out a
single-column timeline layout.

Inside Facebook reports that Facebook has been testing
out the new simplified design with some users.

Any open activities you might have going on, like chats,
friends and recent activity would appear in the right column, according to
Inside Facebook.

But the bulk of your posts over the past little while would
show up in the fat, main column.

Theoretically, the design could look much better on tablets
(if you weren’t using the dedicated app). I find it hard to believe that
Facebook would be going back to the traditional HTML 5 environment after
leaning toward apps.

But this new design that’s in testing also leaves less space
for your mind to jump around between posts on the left and right side of the existing
timelines. The markers to denote content on the timeline were so few, small and
sporadic it was tough to decipher.

But it’s also possible that they’re trying to tweak things
to make some more space for advertising. After all, it seems that everything
they’re doing is in an attempt to make more space for ads…and keep shareholders
happy.

Several Facebook users cried foul after Facebook forced the
Timeline look on all of its users.

Now, it seems like they're trying to find ways to make things
appear better overall.

Are you a fan of the current Facebook timeline look and
feel? What would you like them to change?
