Coming soon: a camera you can wear
A company out of Sweden has a solution: a camera you can wear. And as wild as that idea sounds, they’re actually one step closer to making the project a reality.
So, what exactly will this wearable camera be like? Can you get away with sneaky photos nobody will realize you’re taking?
The camera, about the size of a postage stamp but a little thicker, is designed to snap onto your clothes.
Nothing bulky to lug around, nothing in particular you need to hold up and trigger. Just a little square that snaps away photos from your shirt or jacket.
As it is now, the Mometo wearable camera is designed to subtly snap new photos as you go about your day, capturing these moments in photographic keyframes.
Users can then go back and re-organize the photos, and share the shots on social media.
The team is now working on new features, such as the ability for the camera to capture photos on command when the device is tapped by the user. They’re also working on a wide-angle lens, waterproof container and a Wi-Fi dock.
They’re hoping to get this wearable camera in production by early 2013 at a cost of about $279.
Would you buy this camera to document your life? Or do you think it’s creepy that people will be able to take photos of you without you really noticing?- Maurice Cacho, MSN Tech & Gadgets
