Apple to unveil iPad 3 in early March: report

Counting down the days until Apple pulls the covers off its next tablet? Your wait may soon be over.

AllThingsD is reporting that Apple will announce the iPad 3 in the first week of March.

According to their sources, the announcement will take place during a “trademark” Apple event in San Francisco.

Is this a random rumour? Or is there truth behind the report? As The Next Web points out, ALlThingsD successfully predicted when the iPad 2 was going to be unveiled, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re right about its successor.

What can we expect to see different with Apple’s next tablet? Not a whole lot – until you turn it on.

The report goes on to say that the new tablet will appear the same as its predecessor, but its screen will look much better with a ‘Retina’ display.

Oh yeah, there’ll probably be a faster processor (brains) inside the whole thing to pump out those high-resolution graphics. And a faster processor makes everything else better, usually.

Speaking of the iPad – MSN.ca just launched its latest iPad app. It’s pretty gorgeous with nice big pictures  - but what’s important is that it takes great content (like this) and makes it available in my favourite swipeable format – on the iPad.

You can’t download the app from the iTunes store here.

What would you like to see on the iPad 3?
