What is Facebook's 'awesome' new feature?
The web is abuzz with news about a looming announcement from Facebook about an "awesome" new feature.
According to a report from Reuters, the feature has been built out of their Seattle office - which is Facebook's only other engineering shop other than its Palo Alto, Calif. headquarters.
Rumours? Yes, there have been many.
The strongest and most likely bet is an app specifically designed for the iPad. Some would say it's as overdue as Susan Boyle is for a proper makeover.
The number of apps for Apple's hugely popular tablet computer keeps climbing, and the latest report from CNN suggests there are over 100,000 titles available for the device.
Making an app specifically for the iPad makes tremendous sense since users that use Facebook on a mobile device, like their smartphone or tablet, are twice as active as traditional desktop/laptop users.
Another possible rumour is that Facebook will be coming out with a neat photo feature for their mobile apps (be it on iOS, Android, WP7 or BlackBerry).
The photo/picture sharing tool would be like Instagram on the iPhone, or Picplz on Android. Users could apply a plethora of photo effects to make mostly boring, awful photographs look cool, then instantly share the "art" with their friends.
Considering how strong Facebook is in the photo sharing/storing/stalking department, rolling out a feature like this makes a lot of sense as well.
What feature would you like to see Facebook come out with? Is there a rumour you prefer would come true?
